From the people who use MODL day in and day out, check out these pro tips for each MOD!

Flow MOD

We all know hydration packs are the worst. They’re hard to clean, difficult to fill up and all around inconvenient. Thanks to the Flow MOD, you can replace your hydration packs with MODL. Here’s how to get the most out of your Flow MOD:

1) Take advantage of your MagClip

The MagClip is a small yet mighty tool that allows you to secure the Flow MOD within hands-reach. Whether you're driving, hiking or biking, the MagClip lets you control where your Flow MOD rests for easy drinking. Worried about losing it? We recommend leaving it on your Flow MOD because you’re always going to want it on hand.

2) Mix and match functionality with the Pure MOD and Sling MOD

The Flow MOD replaces the Go MOD (the everyday drinking bite valve), so it works just as well with the Pure MOD and Sling MOD. Using it as a hydration pack while hiking or biking? Throw the Pure in to drink as you go. Slinging your MODL while on a hike or ride? The Flow MOD allows for even easier drinking.

3) Cut off 2-3 inches of the end of your Flow MOD when it gets stretched out.

Like us, you’re probably using your Flow MOD a lot. Inevitably, it’ll get a little stretched out as you keep attaching it to your cap. For an easy fix, just cut off the inch or two that stretched out and your Flow MOD is as good as new!

Pure MOD Filter

The Pure MOD gives you the confidence to explore, knowing you can drink from any freshwater source. With a life of 3000L (so 3000 MODLs worth of water), the Pure MOD has you covered when you’re in the backcountry or during a zombie apocalypse. But that’s not as relevant (for now). Here are some pro tips to help you get the most out of your Pure MOD:

1) Take advantage of the dual filter functionality as an in-line and gravity filter

With in-line filtering functionality, the Pure MOD fits right inside your MODL bottle, making it convenient to carry and super easy to drink on the go. With gravity filtering functionality, the Pure MOD attaches to the outside of the cap. Hang your MODL (using a handy dandy SuperLoop) upside down, and let gravity do the work!

2) Squeeze for faster filtering

Sure, the squeeze-ability of MODL is fun, but there’s functionality that comes with this feature as well. Squeeze your MODL while drinking or gravity filtering to push water through the Pure MOD faster.

3) Use the Pure MOD with the Flow MOD

The Flow MOD is perfect for a wide range of activities, from hiking, to biking, to backpacking and more. Luckily, you don’t have to choose between filter and hydration pack functionality as the Pure MOD can be used with the Flow MOD.

4) Fill up from flowing water to elongate the lifespan of your Pure MOD

The Pure MOD will filter 99.9% of bacteria and protozoa from any freshwater source- standing or flowing. However, there is usually more sediment in standing water sources which can clog your Pure MOD more quickly. To make sure you get a full 3000 MODL’s worth of clean water, stick to filling up from rivers and streams when possible.

5) The Pure MOD does not filter tap water

While the Pure MOD removes 99.9% of protozoa & bacteria like E. coli and Giardia that can be in natural water sources, the Pure MOD does not filter out heavy metals like lead and arsenic that can leach out of pipes. The Pure MOD is designed specifically for filtering water out in the backcountry, not in your home.

Rinse MOD

Getting dirty is a part of adventuring outdoors. There’s really no way around that, and honestly, it’s part of the fun! But there are times when your hands, gear or pup’s paws just need a good rinse. That's when the Rinse MOD has you covered. Here are some pro tips so you can get the most out of your Rinse MOD:

1) Use it with a basic cap to control your water flow

Remove the Go MOD cap when using the Rinse MOD so that water only comes out when you squeeze. Think about how no water comes out of a straw if you put a finger over one end - it’s the same idea.

2) Hang your MODL with a Rinse MOD

Using a SuperLoop, you can hang your MODL upside down from a tree branch or hook so you can easily access the Rinse MOD. As long as you use it with a base cap and not the Go MOD, no water will come out until you squeeze.

Sling MOD

With your Sling MOD, you can carry your MODL hands-free no matter what you’re doing. Whether you’re on a walk, at a concert or music festival, or running errands, the Sling MOD turns MODL into the ultimate everyday bottle. Here is a pro tip for using the Sling MOD:

1) You can wear it in multiple ways

The Sling MOD was made so you can wear MODL comfortably, and there are numerous ways to do this. The Sling MOD can go over one shoulder, can be worn around your waist, or carried like a bag. Depending on what you're doing and what else you’re carrying, don't be afraid to switch up how you rock a Sling MOD.

2) Use the Sling MOD to hang MODL in all kinds of ways

There are tons of other places to hook the Sling MOD - check out this TikTok by HikerJ that went viral! He slings MODL around his roof rack and uses MODL to wash his dishes. Takeaway: Get creative with MODL, and it’ll do what you need it to.
